Look on the Sunny Side

We at ConstructionJobs.com don’t do despair.

Sure, it’s no secret that the market is tough right now. It seems like everywhere you turn these days someone has something to say about the reason behind the economic downturn we’re experiencing in this country and in the global economy as well. Both presidential nominees declare they can fix the parts of the economy that are broken.

As a construction professional, you may find all of this discouraging, especially if you are curious about what positions are available or find yourself in the market for a new job. The nay-sayers can sometimes be so gloomy that it may seem like an ever-more appealing prospect is to simply crawl under a rock somewhere to ride things out rather than being inundated with the dispiriting news broadcasts and general population’s free and unsolicited advice.

Not to despair!

This is where ConstructionJobs.com comes in.

We’ve been in business for over eight years now, and we’ve painstakingly fine-tuned our website to assist construction professionals like you in their quest for better or new employment.

So utilize all of the tools we have to offer! While it’s no secret that the construction market has slowed down a bit, don’t follow the market’s lead! This is the perfect opportunity for qualified and capable individuals such as yourself to step to the forefront and distinguish yourself from the masses.

Our advice (remember, we do this for a living):

  1. Avail yourself of all of the tools we have to offer on ConstructionJobs.com.
  2. Set up “Job Alerts”: a convenient function which allows you to set search criteria and be notified whenever new jobs are posted that match your skill set. If you’re not getting the results you’re looking for, modify those alerts – play around with different keywords and locations until you get a good flow of fresh postings coming to your inbox.
  3. Polish up your resume – have friends proofread your resume. Make sure your resume highlights your skills and abilities – use action verbs such as “increased profit, reduced risk, maximized efficiency, cut costs, improved productivity.”
  4. Include specific numbers and accomplishments on your resume. “Saved $25,000 for my company by …” or “Completed project 2 weeks ahead of schedule and with zero injuries ….”
  5. Keep in mind that your ideal employer is probably sorting through many resumes; make yours stand out!
  6. And finally, take advantage of the ConstructionJobs.com “Career Center” chocked full of great resume writing tips, interviewing guidelines, and other useful job search tools.

Despite what the news media and the random guy at the gas station may claim however, great jobs in the construction industry are out there and ConstructionJobs.com is the perfect tool to help you find just what you’re looking for. Post your (finely tuned and polished) resume, set up multiple job alerts (and modify them as needed), and finally, check out our Career Center; you’ll be well on your way to finding the position you’re aiming for!

Act Now! Supplies are Unlimited!

growthI was watching a football game last week when an advertisement came on hoping to sell me some revolutionary new cleaning product that would restore luster to my carpets or revitalize my upholstery or make my kitchen counters shine like new. I’m not sure what the product specialized in: I didn’t really pay attention to that. But I was unable to ignore the announcer screaming that I had better “ACT NOW! Supplies are limited!”

Sure, supplies are limited. Truckloads of that revolutionary cleaner are leaving the warehouse every ten minutes, so I better call now to get my share.

Well, rest assured, that we at ConstructionJobs.com are not going to lambast our clients with advertising intended to induce panic.

What we tell the leading construction companies in the country is that when they post their urgent positions on our website we will provide them with access to the exact product that they need. You, of course, are that product.

Because of you and thousands of professionals like you, supplies are unlimited and are expanding every week, not diminishing. We have a greater supply of our product now than we had last week, and about five times greater than a year ago, and about ten times greater than two years ago, and so on.

For any company that wants to grow and prosper, we offer them the foreman who can revolutionize that jobsite! The project manager who can revitalize an entire crew! That estimator who can restore luster to the estimating department.

Okay, we don’t use hokey language like that, but we are proud that our database of strong and experienced construction professionals is ever expanding. The unique place we hold in the industry has attracted thousands of professionals who trust us to help them meet client companies who are, like you, eager and ambitious and proud of the work that they do.

So don’t wait and miss the chance to attract the attention of some of the country’s leading companies. Thousands of your colleagues have already sent us resumes and project lists. In the words of every screaming television shill for every over-hyped product, ACT NOW!

Now, or anytime you feel like is the right time to let client companies review the ways in which you have served your employer, made money, saved time, and solved problems. It’s free to you.

And, much like the operators who are breathlessly waiting for you to call about that revolutionary new cleaner, our easy to use website at ConstructionJobs.com is standing by.
