Follow Us on Twitter & Facebook

ConstructionJobs.com strives to be as available and ready to act on the behalf of our clients as possible, so it is with excitement that we announce that we now have accounts on both Twitter and Facebook.

We are encouraging candidates to follow our presence on Twitter as doing so will give them real-time access to new postings of our Job of the Day, updates on numbers of vital positions posted (Project Managers positions, Superintendent positions, etc), and tips on writing a resume, marketing oneself well, and more. The brief and rapid-fire style that Twitter presents will let us send updates often that candidates can check: they will know if you have a position posted, and you will feel confident that no time is wasted since we will get the word out through Twitter.

In other words, adding Twitter is meant to recognize that society moves rapidly: far from being frivolous or social, we are using Twitter to make sure that the sharpest, quickest candidates we know don't miss a chance to reply to positions that are vital to your company.

Likewise, if your company maintains a Facebook account, you can click into the link to Facebook on ConstructionJobs.com and maintain an updated and vital profile of your company on that popular social site. Of course, the thousands of professionals who rely on our site to keep them connected to the strongest positions available in the industry visit us regularly: posting the positions you need to fill will attract those builders who can advance the enterprises you are pursuing.

The advantages of linking to us through Facebook are greater than mere social mobility, of course. Not only can strong candidates find your company profile, but they will have the confidence of knowing that ConstructionJobs.com stands united with Facebook and therefore is a direct and legitimate link to the companies such as yours where they desire to work.

The addition of access to these two tools doesn't change the more thorough and straight-forward content of ConstructionJobs.com. On our site, we still offer full service and a brand that clients like you and thousands of candidates recognize and trust. Our commitment to being agile and service-oriented distinguishes our work from that of our competitors (see the article below).

But our accounts on Twitter and Facebook are our latest effort to serve you in a way that fits into your busy schedule – and the habits of modern candidates - as easily and helpfully as possible.

One in a Thousand

We at ConstructionJobs.com are delighted to reprint the following press release from WEDDLE'S, the world's largest publisher of print guides to job boards. We are pleased that WEDDLE'S selected ConstructionJobs.com as one of the Top 100 job boards from among the more than 100,000 job boards now operating on the Internet.

Being selected as a Top 100 Site means that we are, literally, one in a thousand, and we are proud that our recognition by WEDDLE'S means that we are serving you well and maintaining the principles that drive us to try to serve you better.

"ConstructionJobs.com is honored in being selected as one of the elite in the job board industry. All of the employees at ConstructionJobs.com take pride in our job board and strive to make our site an effective and efficient resource for our clients and job seekers," said Charlie Kimmel, president of ConstructionJobs.com.

Called the "Zagat" of the online employment industry by the American Staffing Association, WEDDLE's released its selections in conjunction with the publication of its 2009/10 Guide to Employment Sites on the Internet.

Here, then, is the Press Release:

Stamford, CT. June 23, 2009

WEDDLE's, world's largest publisher of print guides to job boards, includes ConstructionJobs.com in the elite of the online employment services industry.

Why should job seekers care about this news? Because job boards work.

  • In a recent survey of 17,000+ working men and women, using a job board was identified as the single best way to find a job in today's tough environment. Over one-third of the respondents said they found their last job on a job board—more than four times greater than the next highest response—and almost two-thirds said they expected to find their next job that way.
  • In the same survey, eight-out-of-ten employers said that new hires sourced online were among their best employees. For that reason, over a third of the respondents were filling half of their openings through job boards and over a quarter were actually filling three-quarters of their vacancies that way.

The challenge for working men and women and employers alike is figuring out which sites to use. The Top 100 list is one way to do that. The Guide describes each site in the Top 100 with a detailed profile of its services, features and fees for both job seekers and employers. It also includes a directory of over 10,000 other job boards organized by career field, industry and geographic focus.

"Our Top 100 employment sites are the elite of the job board industry," says WEDDLE's Publisher Peter Weddle. "They have the strongest brands, the best services and the most distinguished track records of the sites we've seen on the Web. Are there other good sites out there? Of course. But the Top 100 selectees are truly in a class of their own."

The site selection methodology included a comprehensive review of information submitted by the sites describing their features, services and fees as well as information provided by job seekers, employers and recruiters who have used the site. In addition, each site was visited to assess its user experience and level of maintenance.
