Job-Specific Insights The ideal candidate will have experience in steel fabrication, weld inspection, nondestructive testing methods for welds, high strength bolting, steel coatings, prestressed concrete fabrication and inspection, contract management, material documentation and test result review, with the ability to interpret specifications and plan details.
The role requires travel both in and out of state for the purpose of plant audits, materials inspection, technician verification testing, among other responsibilities of the section.
The position will be responsible for collaborating with both internal and external parties to VDOT to facilitate training, reviewing and writing specifications, manage and coordinating work with consultant inspectors, and making recommendations regarding the acceptance of materials.
