Job Description

D&D Mechanical, Inc., is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Manager / Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction practices, process piping, materials, equipment and mechanical systems experience, coupled with excellent project management skills. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of industrial and heavy commercial mechanical and piping projects, from estimating, proposal development, planning and coordination to execution and completion. 


What You'll Do Every Day

  • Organize, review, update, maintain and post construction documents, specifications, schedules and drawings.
  • Collaborate with project team to complete requests for information (RFI).
  • Review submittals and other project documents for accuracy against plans and specifications.
  • Monitor material and equipment delivery status.
  • Maintain and distribute accurate project logs (i.e. buyouts, subcontractor material status reports, submittals, RFIs)
  • Attend regular project meetings.
  • Manage deadlines.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients, engineers and stakeholders.
  • Encourage safe work practices. Ensure work is being completed safely and conducts themselves with high professional standards, exemplary business ethics and a positive attitude.
  • Develop detailed estimates, project plans, schedules, and budgets in response to client solicitations.
  • Interact with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors to forge strong relationships to secure best pricing and availability for materials, supplies and services.
  • Meet with clients/customers at their facility to review new opportunities/ongoing work.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors & vendors.
  • Make decisions, allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, tracking expenditures against budget and timeline, including regular site visits as required
  • Managing job scope – i.e. change orders, schedule changes, etc...
  • Address any issues or obstacles that arise during the project promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets established standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, permits, contracts, and reports.
  • Manage/cultivate current and new customer relationships.
  • Keeping up to date on billing/progress draws for completed work.
  • Review project outcomes and lessons learned to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: A high school diploma is required. An Industry related college degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of construction project management experience is desired. 
  • The candidate must have extensive construction experience in all facets of the project. Process piping, plumbing, mechanical experience preferred.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, good engineering and construction management skills are extremely important in this role. Individuals must have good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • A high level of integrity is required. Good time management and project organization skills are essential. 
  • Technology: Must be proficient in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Work, PowerPoint, Project, Excel, etc.), Bluebeam, and must be able to learn project management & estimating programs of various types.
